Beginning Guitar
1. Write in the notes for all of #17 "Ode To Joy"
2. Be sure to practice all the way through "Ode to Joy", we are going to start playing the whole piece next week so practice hard!
3. Learn #24 "Au Clair de la Lune", there are 2 parts but you only have to learn the part that was assigned to you in class, lines 1,2, and 4 are exactly the same so it shouldn't be too hard to learn
4. We now have 11 notes down in total (low D to High G) please review in your book to make sure you feel comfortable with where these are on both the staff and on the guitar
Beginning Band
1. Continue practicing #'s 1-10, we are going to keep running through these til we all feel confident about getting between our notes
2. Just a reminder the notes we have so far are:
Flute: F, Eb, D, C, Bb
Trumpet: G, F, E, D, C
Alto Sax: D, C, B, A, G
3. Start working on #'s 11 and 12 (Reading the Notes and First Flight), if this seems hard at first don't get discouraged, we are going to spend plenty of time ironing these out, just give it your best shot
4. Percussionists take note that #'s 11 and 12 involve some new rhythms for you, be sure to practice them before class
Intermediate Band (Wednesday)
1.) Continue working on #78 "Up On a Housetop", lets aim for an excellent run of the piece next week
2.) Continue working on #80 "The Big Airstream", count the rhythms in the second half out loud!! There was too much confusion over that last week, lets make sure its done this week so we can move on!
3.) #82 and 83 (Air Time and Down By the Station) are our new pieces for next week, lets make sure all the notes are written in and we have all practiced these two new works!
4.)Continue working on #91 "Banana Boat Song",we have got the first part down, lets start writing in the note names for the second half, try to play through it as well
