Prelude Strings is our entry-level strings ensemble for young beginners who want to play violin, viola or cello.
These instruments can be made much smaller than their original sizes, so we have a size that fits your prelude student. We keep the class sizes small, so your child can get the individual attention needed.
Strings I (ages 8-up)
Strings I is our entry-level strings ensemble for agest 8-up who want to play violin, viola, cello, or bass. Strings II, III and IV are higher level classes for students with instrument experience.
Prelude Band (ages 6-8)
Prelude Band students can choose between the Recorder, Snare Drum. Ages 6 to 8 is the ideal time for children to start developing lung strength, rhythm, embouchure, motor skills and other foundational techniques. This class will help prepare them for Beginning Band.
Band I (ages 8-up)
Band I students learn how to play a wind or percussion instrument for the first time! Here are some instruments to choose from: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, drums, bells and more! (Percussion students will learn on multiple instruments but will practice at home on a snare/bell kit. These kits can be rented or purchased at an affordable rate).
Band II, III and IV are higher level classes for students with instrument experience.
Group Ukulele (ages 6-8)
Ukulele is perfect for the younger students as it is much smaller than a guitar and easier to learn. It is also inexpensive to purchase. This class will teach the students how to play fun songs in a group environment while incorporating the basics of music theory and ukulele technique.

Group Guitar students have fun learning how to perform in an ensemble environment. We learn classical, rock, blues, and more!
Group Guitar I is for beginning students. Group Guitar II, III and IV are higher level classes for students with instrument experience.
Choir I (ages 6-10)
In Choir I, students will learn the basics of reading music, solfege, and singing technique. This is the perfect age to begin training children's ears to sing well together.
Choir II (ages 11-up)
In Choir II, students will learn at a more advanced pace. In addition to strengthening music reading and solfege, students will be learning to sing in parts and how to develop their voices as they grow.

HOST Private Lessons are individual music lessons available for all students, whether or not they are in our group classes. While recommended, students do not have to be in private lessons to be part of our group classes We offer lessons for every instrument offered at HOST. Private lessons are individual sessions, and are a separate rate than the HOST Classes. For more information on HOST Private Lessons, click here.
We are also open to private and public school students looking for a band or orchestral program. Our advanced groups are open to graduated students who are under 22 years of age and are by audition only.
